Research

My main research is on olfactory communication in vertebrates, mainly focusing on body scent as a cue of genetic relatedness. My main models species are birds which have long been thought to have a poor sense of smell.

My projects bring together the fields of behavioral ecology, microbiology and chemical ecology.
